FO - Bayside Scarf
I finished this scarf a couple of weeks ago, but I don't own a digital camera, so I had to wait for a friend to take these pics for me.

I'm not sure how long this took, it all blended together after a while. I must say, I was astounded by how long it is. I can't believe I made a scarf taller than myself! It's strange, when I was about 3/4 of the way through, I just wanted to get it off the needles and around my neck (twice!), but after I bound off and wove in the ends, I moped around for a couple of days and had a hard time settling on my next project.

I got the pattern out of Basic Knitting by Leigh Ann Berry. She called for two strands of fingerling weight but I was too intimidated by how tiny it was. '' I ended up stranding two skeins of sport-weight sock yarn, and I think I did OK.

Learning how to work with two strands and how do do a semi-lacey pattern at the same time was quite a challenge. I ripped out about four inches of it two or three times before I read some advice to a new knitter on this forum. "It's handmade for heavens sake! You're not a machine, don't try to be one." After that I calmed down a little bit, gave myself a break, and just kept working on it. No, it's not perfect, but I made it, me, with my own hands.

Anyway, here's the pics. I don't know any knitters here at home yet, so y'all get to be my knitting circle. I can't tell you how much I've learned here, and what a wonderful resource this forum has been for me.

Best to all,
Andrea

Oh boy, there goes the time! Gotta get the brownies out of the oven!

I don't usually like variegated yarn with lace, but this is really nice.
