Sewing Together Bag
How do you "sew" the ends of a bag together. It's a big rectangle that I need to fold in half and sew together and sew on straps. (It was supposed to be one big long strap, but there must be a misprint because it says 40 stitches...that's only long enough for a hand-bag handle so I made 2 and I'm making it a hand bag!)

Do I use a needle and thread or use yarn to sew. I see sew together on a ton of patterns and I feel like a dork because I didn't know what that meant. On a blanket I'm assuming you'd use yarn, but since this is a purse, I think you'd want something to better hold it together.

Here's the pattern:

Hi!
In the case of knitting, you use yarn to "sew" or "seam" the pieces together. You'll need to use a darning or yarn needle. They are larger, duller versions of regular needles so they don't snag and break the yarn. Check out Amy's videos for help on seaming, otherwise a good knitting reference book should have instructions for various types of seaming HERE

Hope that helps!!
