Help - Booga Bag !

hai,
Well i'm currently doing a booga bag with one strand of the Noro yarn. But somehow it looks kinda "flimsy" kwim???? Wld it turn out ok after felting ... i'm getting a lil bit of panicky here. Though I did a double strand for the base which appears to be more sturdy.

I found alot of threads relating to the booga's but ended up not getting very clear answers to my q's. Somebody please help me with these q's
1) How do I insert the Icord ... I do not wanna make a hole in the bag after felting ... is there any other way to do this

2) And I skipped the twisted stitches... is that ok(I rber reading that somewhere in the forum)???

I so love this yarn color that I really want this bag to turn perfect.

I'm still working on my Booga Bag too. I've done everything except the felting, which I've never done before. I'm gonna try it today.

I made my bag with some vintage 100% wool, and I double-stranded the whole bag. I'm not sure if it will felt well or not. Here's hoping!

About the holes for the I-cord, I remember reading somewhere on the internet that some people prefer to felt the cord first, and then attach it before felting the bag. They said it was easier to put through when it was not felted yet. I would think that the cord would need to be adjusted occasionally while the bag is felting, though.

On my bigga-booga bag, I inserted the i-cord before felting with no problem. I just kind of folded it the way you are instructed and went forth. Yes, it does need to be adjusted a bit. The PROBLEM with this, is that i-cord felts faster than the bag itself, so you may want to compensate by making it longer than the pattern, and planning on really stretching and pulling it.

I wouldnt worry about the flimsy factor. they become pretty durn sturdy!

Raji, I only used one strand of NK yarn on my bag, and it was very sturdy after felting, it was amazing how thick it actually had become. As for the twisting stitches, I must admit

I forgot to do this, and was a little nervous, but it still turned out looking great. I also realized late in my knitting that there was a dropped stitch, we I repaired it, it did not look that great, but after felting it was not even noticeable anymore!

For those of u who have felted it... how long did it take for the entire process..coz the entire length of the bag isn't very huge????

I'm almost done with the bag, I'm making the I cords. Did any of u use the "snaps" - the round fasteners for the icords?? I was wondering if i shld attach them before felting or later. Sorry if i sound very silly ... but i really need to know.

I just followed the pattern and made holes with thick double-pointed needles after felting. It was a little hard to do, but turned out very nice.

Love the stripes! Did you just cut a buttonhole by slicing through the felted fabric, or did you knit it, or is the button just there for "show" and doesn't really button?
