Work the neck decreases as written until the piece is 14 inches long, then start the armhole decreases as you continue with the neck decreases.
When your piece is 14" long, you start the armhole decreases by binding off 3 stitches at the armhole edge when this is the beginning of the row.
Work one row without armhole decreases, and on the next row, when you're starting with the arm edge, bind off 2 stitches.
Then decrease one stitch each time you start with the arm edge 4 times.
At this point you should have 11 stitches left after the neck and armhole decreases.
