I do have a bunch of this, that I got from Smileys a while back. I haven't used it for a large project--I mainly bought it to have lots of different colors for an intarsia project.
The problem is that I haven't used the Shine so I can't compare them. The Luxor doesn't have a sheen to it like many cottons. It's soft and not splitty and does come in lots of colors. There are 130 yards in the skein. I don't know how this compares to Shine.
