need bathing suit

I want to make a bathing suit or bikini this year. I can't find any patterns does anyone know of any and can I use a 50%cotton 50%acrilic yarn? I have a ton of pink/purple Dance yarn.

Here's a few patterns, but I'm sure there are more out there.

I'm not sure about the yarn. I do know you have to be careful with swimwear. It tends to really stretch when wet!

agreed! And there are swimsuit patterns out there, just gotta weed through them and REALLY search if you dont like the ones listed in the link Jan posted

Berrecco has a pattern that I highly suggest you do NOT try! I spent all this time on it last year, and I swear, I'm not sure what kind of woman would fit in that thing, very strange.

I'm trying to find yarn for one as well. I'm thinking I'm going to go with the one in Hollywood Knits by Suss Cousins. It's a pretty simply bikini pattern, and it says it's not for swimming, so I'm trying to find a yarn to make it more adaptable.

There are two patterns for bathing suits ( a one-piece and a bikini) in the 2006 Knitting Pattern-a-Day calendar. I got it for Christmas. One is on June 21 and the other is on July 27. The bikini is for machine knitting, but the one-piece is hand knit with Cascade Fixation.

I just got the Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer and I'm planning on doing a bathing suit they have in there. It calls for Classic Elite Star, which has a little more elastic than other brands. My LYS suggested it over Cascade Fixation. I can't wait to start working on it!!
