gauge question and ribbing

My pattern specifies a gauge on the larger needles which will be used to do the stockinette stitch. THe ribbing on my pattern will be made with a size smaller needle. If I am able to achieve gauge with the needles that the pattern has specified, will my ribbing also be to scale?

As long as your gauge on the main part is good, don't worry about the ribbing. It's stretchy, anyway, and will be fine if your gauge is right on the other.
