softening acrylic
Is there any way to soften an acrylic sweater? I've just finished knitting it, and it feels...stiff and hard (I can't describe it any other way!)

I would run it through the wash. That has worked for me in the past. Just make sure that you follow the label direction.

I would use a fabric softener while washing, and would only dry it minimally in the dryer {if the label says that it is dryer safe}. I would allow it to finish drying either flat or hung up. The fabric softener will help soften it, and only drying it minimally will help prevent static build-up.
