Sock help needed

I am making my first sock. I've gotten to the part where you pick up the stitches and make the gusset.

I'm just not getting it. :thinking: I am using two circular needles rather than 4 dpns. My mom says this is easier, of course she's been knitting 50+ years!!!

I think you are going to have to give a specific issue you are having or give us some information on the pattern you are using for us to help you. What part is confusing you? (i think this area is the part that a lot of people struggle with so if you can tell us what the issue is i would be you will get lotsa help! )
