How do I reverse direction of knitting in turtleneck

HELP! I'm knitting a turtleneck with a small cable and rib pattern on circular needles and pattern says. "Turn garment inside out to reverse direction of knitting so that when neck is folded over patterned section will appear on RS." I understand the concept but can't seem to execute without creating a hole. How do I do this successfully? Anybody got any tips? New to the forum; just heard about the Web site. What a fantastic resource......thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

You can try doing a wrap and turn. Amy has videoof the wrap and turn for her short row shaping.

That should prevent a hole, but if not, you can always stitch it closed later.
