Casting on extra stitches
Hello,

My name is Sharon, and I am a new knitter. :XX:

In the past I have knitted a few scarfs, but never attempted anything challenging. Well, that changed when a good friend of mine told me she was having a baby (her third). I decided to knit a baby sweater. To be honest it has been a little frustrating, but I have resisted the urge to stick it in the closet, and crochet something instead. Anyway, I am now up to the sleeves, and the instructions say that I am to cast on three addtional stitches at the beginning and end of the row. Is there one particular way that is favored over another? Am I supposed to cast on additional stitches the way I cast them on when I started the sweater? The instructions give no clue.
Thanks

Welcome!

The Backward Loop cast on works well for this type of thing.
