Alternate Cable Cast-On - is there a bind-off??
I am really intrigued by the Alternate Cable Cast-On - and now I'm wondering if there is a bond off method for this? Or am I suppose to bind off in pattern?

Thanks!

I think the cable cast on is attractive cuz its supposed to look like a bind off row so both yer bind off and cast off look the same. But if you have a certain pattern going on I would cast off in pattern (for example, if yer doing ribbing then you would bind off in that ribbing) Hope this helps

I agree, the cast on is meant to look like the cast off. If you are knitting in a pattern then yoiu don't have to cast off in that pattern but it looks a lot better if you do!

I'm knitting a scarf that I did a cable cast on with and now I cannot figure out what bindoff to use to make them look even on both ends (since both ends end up next to each other when worn, it'd be nice if they looked alike). Any ideas?

I've only used it for the ribbing on hats so no bind off needed.

Vogue Knitting recommends the Alternate Cable Cast On for k1 p1 ribbing, and this is the bind off they recommend for k1 p1 ribbing:

1. Cut the yarn three times the width of the ribbing. Insert a yarn needle purlwise into the first (knit) stitch. Pull the yarn through. With the yarn needle behind the knt stitch, insert it knitwise into the purl stitch as shown. Pull the yarn through.

2. *With the yarn needle, sleep the first knit stitch knitwise and then insert the yarn needle into the next stitch purlwise as shown. Pull the yarn through.

3. With the yarn needle, slip the first stitch purlwise. Go behind the knit stitch and insert the yarn needle knitwise into the next purl stitch as shown. Pull the yarn through. Repeat from the * in step 2 until all the stitches are bound off.

Not sure if that helps at all. Good luck!
