over?

Hey there.
I'm working on a sweater, but it's dated to the 20's so there are some abreviation changes.

commence lace pattern. 1st row- Knit two. *over, knit 1, over, knit two stitches together, knit 1, knit two stitches together*

Is the part I'm having trouble with. What does 'over' mean? I took it as slip one, knit one, passover- but at the end of the row it didn't even out.

can anyone give me any advice as to what this means? thanks so much. :D

i would bet they are yarn overs. you have two K2tog's in those instructions so i would guess you are compensating for them.
