How Can I Knit these AWESOME Slippers???

I LOVE these slippers! The purple and teal ones in the middle of the strip of photos.

How can I knit in this shape? How do I make the toes round and the part on the top of the foot a *U* shape (opposite the toe)? Is there a pattern out there that could help me with this basic shape?

Or let me ask another way... if someone were to knit these, how would someone go about it?? ....would someone share that method with me??

Those are gorgeous!!! This month's KAL is using freeform knitting, perhaps you can get some ideas there

I'd make the top and bottom seperately, myself. The top could use short-row shaping to form the cup and the bottom would just be a matter of increases and decreases to shape it to the foot.
