Easy Scarf?

Im really new to knitting (like 3 days) I was wondering if there are patterns for a scarf just doing knit stitch. I dont know purl yet but hopefully i will learn soon. Thank you for your help :D

You really don't need a pattern. Just cast on stitches and start knitting away. When it gets long enough for you, bind it off.

To decide how many stitches to cast on, do a test swatch to see what your guage is with the needles you're using.'

How big is a gauge supposed to be....i know that sounds silly like i said kinda new at this stuff. My mom wants me to knit her a scarf. but first im gonna finish a project i started with my boyfriend. We are learning to knit together. This site is the best for any type of help and i rely on it ALOT. I appreicate your help

Gauge really doesn't matter for a scarf you're just knitting. Cast on for as wide as you want it to be, and start knitting. If you like the fabric that you're creating (not too loose and not too tight) you're on your way.

If you can tell us what yarn you plan to use, we can probably give you a general idea of how many stitches to cast on, if you need help with that.

Then you just knit and knit until you decide it's long enough.

In my case, that was about an inch. But my knitting ADD is getting much better.

I hope I didn't cause any confusion when I recommended a gauge swatch. I only did it so that you could get an idea of how many sts you need to make an inch. For example, if you have 7 sts per inch and you want a 10 inch wide scarf, you would know to cast on 70.

Knitaddict. It did cross my mind that it was him. He should have WON the Oscar for playing JESUS in that wonderful movie. His performance was outstanding. :D I forgot I was watching an actor during most of his suffering scenes. But may times I did think "wow" he sure is handsome during the movie.
