Looking: toddler sock pattern with DPN size 1-3
I can't find one! I am thinking about winging it, but I'm still rather inexperienced (only one pair of socks so far). I am looking for a pattern to fit toddler feet (age 2-3) on DPN's size 1-3 with fingering or sock weight yarn. Anyone know of any?

If not, I think I will do it from scratch and then put one up on the internet, because I've been searching for a couple weeks with no luck. Maybe someone has found one?

Thanks!
kathy

I'm just a beginner knitter so excuse my ignorance but I wondered if you could use this pattern as a template for making a toddler sock pattern? http://www.interweave.com/knit/inter...han_Bootie.pdf .

hey halle, i like this pattern!

i got ideas from that one actually and the "child's sock pattern" made of opal yarn (dont have the url handy), but what im probably going to do just measure seth's foot and do a gauge swatch and then sit and do the math. not my favorite way to pass the time, but i already bought the sock yarn for my son's socks, just assuming it would be easy to find a pattern. i dont want to waste money!

I'm having the same problem! My DS is almost 2 but with huge boat feet . I'm looking for a relatively simple pattern that will fit him and his cankles, with no luck. I've done three seperate sock patterns so far with no luck (they don't fit right) and I'm about to just go off of measurements, too. I figure if I minus 10% for stretching, it should work out okay (I hope!). If not, this is at least giving me a lot of sock practice since I'm still pretty new.

I've made tons of socks for my DD (almost 3) just by using Sock Class and casting on fewer stitches -- I think I usually cast on 30-40 stitches with fingering weight yarn.

If you prefer a short row heel, there's always this pattern: http://www.thekingspottery.com/booger_toddlersocks.htm

I feel your pain, geekgolightly. My feet are only 5" long but they have a 8" circumfrence. I can never find sock patterns that work. But I found this amazing site that allows you to put in your foot measurements, your gauge for whatever yarn you want to use, and it generates a pattern for you. The link in my sig goes to one of the sockulators but it's written for Magic Loop. The best part is that you learn different techniques and she demonstrates everything perfectly.
