I'm a funny mix (or is that mixed up funny person)...
I love to knit with quality natural fibers. I really dislike acrylics, they squeak! I figure I did my time with acrylics and straight metal needles as a teen and young adult (many years ago). My mom still has the floor length crocheted shell pattern earth tones robe I made more than 20 years ago and a few other items to prove it
She brings it out now and then and tells how I made the entire thing in a paper grocery bag so she couldn't see what her Christmas present would be.
I am a sensory knitter and my enjoyment goes way up when knitting with quality yarns and ebony needles!
However, I am a veteran scoth bargain hunter! I had to find a way to mix the two.
So I find like new cashmere, angora, merino, and other luxury yarn sweaters at 99 cent day at the thrift store and reclaim the yarns. That brings my yarn costs WAY down and I then feel free to buy some more expensive luxury yarns to add to the mix, while keeping my per lb costs relatively low. Tencels, Angora Valley socks yarns, Organic Cottons etc.
I love having enough cashmere, and at low costs, that I can use it with abandon.
