How do I P2SSO?
Hi! I'm knitting a sweater and the pattern says K1, P2SSO, K1 and so on. The pattern's abbreviations dictionary says P2SSO means "pass 2 slipped stitches over."

Do I slip one, then another, and then do the bind-off move over each of them separately? Do I slip two at once and treat them as one stitch for the bind off? Do I just slip two over and keep going?

I went to a local knitting class and asked the teacher, and she said it meant to purl two together and then slip two off, but that doesn't seem right. Thanks. Amy PS--never tried using emoticons before and haven't learned "less is more," yet...

I always slip two together as if to knit two together, and then pass them over as one if I can. Depending on the yarn, that might be awkward, so there's no harm in passing them over one at a time over the same stitch.
