You WILL NOT believe this!
This is really amazing!

Art graduate Lauren Porter knitted a Ferrari sportscar for her honours degree at Bath Spa University.
The classic red bodywork consists of 250 squares of garter stitch made by Lauren and 20 family members and friends.

The windows are V-shaped stocking stitch, while the details are crochet and the badge is embroidered.

It's all supported by a steel frame which Lauren, 22, of Greatham, Hants, welded herself.

Ummmm, should we all start this and have it ready for Christmas? *L*

Yep and the yarn was donated by Sirdar. It cost in the region of £500 (around $800). It is 200 squares laid over a steel frame. Initially I was impressed thinking she'd done it all herself - don't get me wrong its still pretty spectacular but when I read about the help from family and friends... took 10 months for them to put it together. It is still impressive.

Don't get me wrong, it's cool looking. But how does this qualify one for college credit?

I believe this was the equivalent of her Thesis or Dissertation - the final piece for the end of her degree in Art. I guess this is what got her the honours =P
