Searching for shrugs
I have fallen in love with a shrug/sweater that i saw on a television programme. Unfortunately, i haven't got a clear enough picture to really see how it's put together. The only thing i know is that it's all one piece, but i can't tell if it's seamed under the arms.

Trouble is, i REALLY want something that's long in the back, like this one, but most shrug patterns have a very high waist. Has anyone got a pattern for something similar to this? (preferably free/online, since shipping to Japan is either impossible or really expensive! :D )

:D Yep, first place i went. Found a couple possibilities, but the more i looked at them, the less i thought i could adapt them to something i'd be happy with.

You could generate your own: http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/329

Or try here - click on image then click on schematic link: http://www.berroco.com/item_fr/fr_wraps.html

The Berroco patterns vary between knitting a rectangle and seaming to make arms, to bat wing arms to flat knit sleeves.

That looks like Hustle!

Not sure about how that is constructed... Looks like it could be seamed under the arms tho judging from the edgings

Berroco and Hustle
Hey thanks Carol! One of those berroco patterns looks like it might work out if i amend the collar.

And Mulene, it's not Hustle, but it is Jaime Murray, in the BBC 'Taming of the Shrew' last fall :)

I think the Streakers Shrug from Interweave Knits Spring 2006 is longer in the back like the pic you posted. Streakers has long sleeves, but you could modify to short sleeves. I think someone posted a FO of the Streakers Shrug in the last two weeks.
