One of my favorite places to go on vacation is Sanibel and Captiva Islands near Ft Myers Fl. I just love it there - you feel like you are on a tropical island but you don't have to leave the US.

So I turned Sanibel into Sanibelle!

I used to be called something else (Traciloveslepp) BUT I picked that name out in a huge hurry when I first got online and joined the Def Leppard online communities. That was 4 years ago, and that and are the only places I use that name. But on Pogo Traciloveslepp was already taken. So I added an s. Weird.

PaperGirl was born when DH and I bought 2 newspapers on the coast of Texas. Even though we dont own them anymore, the name sticks...and if I go somewhere where I cant be the only PaperGirl, I usually stick an X in front of it.

PaperGirl there too!

My dad nicknamed me Fifi as an infant because even he apparently didn't like my given name. I was called Fifi, La'Fif, Feef, Daughter #2.

From mom, I was raised being called my what I thought was my given name DammitJanet. *sigh*.

I shortened it to Jan as an adult. My kids call me mom, my husband calls me hun, my grands call me Nana and GrammaNana, and my girlfriend is teaching her daughter to call me GrammaFeef.

A house is not a home without a cat, no outfit is complete without cat hair, and everything tastes better with cat hair in it!

I am glad this thread was revived. Very interesting. My screen name comes from a mispronouncement of my Greek last name. :happydancing:

My screen name is a nickname my mom gave me because I simply love everything about moose .

Advice from a Moose: Think big * Spend time in the woods * Eat plenty of greens * Hold your head up high * Stay on track * Keep your nose clean * It's OK to be a little wild!

I'm pretty straightforward - mine is because I am a mommy to (2) two alyns! Both of my girls' first names end in -a and both of their middle names end in -lyn, so I combined them. And we actually didn't plan for their names to match like that - I didn't even notice it until my youngest was several months old!
Homeschooling mama to a 5 and a 7 year old!

Knitting for baby - those little things fly off the needles!
