"The Big Snuggly" pattern calls for using 4 strands of yarn at once, so you should probably stick with 3 strands of homespun or reduce it to 2 strands if you use anything thick like "Light and Lofty".

She used 3 worsted weight yarns and 1 DK weight all held together when she made it.
