bamboo needle maintenance

I have recently purchased my first pair of bamboo needles and am quite smitten with them.

Do any of you experts out there have tips on maintaining them?

Is there any way to prevent them from discolouring? Mine are slowly turning blue to match my yarn.

Your avitar is really cute.

I've heard people rubbing them with wax paper to make them smoother.

Haven't heard about them becoming discolored. Hopefully someone else will chime in...

Thanks! I'll have to try the wax paper trick--maybe it will work to keep the dye out. I suspect that the blue will have to be knitted off.
