I was at my LYS today (and spent $130! I can't get out of the place cheaply) and bought a set of DPNs by Brittany. I hadn't heard or noticed them before, but I am really loving them!
They are so lightweight yet sturdy, and smooth but not slippery! Perfect!

my Brittanys. I have dpn 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10" 4 and 6 single points and 14" 6 single points. They're the best for sock knitting. HOWEVER, they have been known to snap. (Lost 2 #2 dpn on the last sock project.) BUT, if you break any, simply go to the Brittany site and email them for FREE ( ) replacements.
I'm completely addicted to my britannys. I got a little grumpy when one set turned slightly blue from the socks I was working on, but at least I know which ones are my size 2's now
I haven't had any problem with bending or breakage (Yet). I guess I just don't abuse my needles too badly... I like how short the brittanys are. I've tried longer needles, and they just get in the way!
