Zoe Mellor pattern and yarns

I just bought the french version of the book Nursery Knits: 25 Easy-Knit Designs For Clothes, Toys And Decorations

I love all the colors of the patterns that is in the book, the problem is that in the french edition they do not give the brand name of the yarn someone knows if it is the same in the english book ?

These are the pattens I want to knit and the yarn I need

- 100 % mercerized cotton 26 sts 36 rows 3mm needle pattern is on this link

I have the English (UK) edition of the book.
These are the yarns for the Darling Dolly pattern:

Oddments of Jaeger Aqua Cotton in (orange/Marigold 331), (dark pink/India 332), (flesh colour/Talc 302), (yellow/Daffodil 330), (red/Ruby 316) and (purple/Comfrey 328)

For the Fancy Fair Isle:

4 (4:4) 50g/1-3/4 oz balls of Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4 ply in M (cream/Ash 731), and 1 ball in each of (ecru/Snowdrop 102), (pale green/Thyme 715), (aqua green/Mineral 741), (pale pink/Cyclamen 694), and (dark pink/Strawberry 633)

Ingrid , I did not find the merinos yarn with the right gauge but I am sure it will be helpful later on.

As I said, I'm hugely thrilled to be able to help someone here. usually I'm just sidling past in awe :D I had just taken the book out the other day, having bought it on impulse and wondering if I'll ever make anything out of it :thinking: Finding knitting and crochet books here is so rare that I thought it miraculous someone actually had the same one :D

mrsfife, I jus look on the web for the Jaeger yarn for the doll the gauge for the mercerized cotton is 5 1/2 sts / needle 6 USA can you telle me what is the gauge in your english book ?
In the french book it is written 26 stitches / 4 inches with needle 3mm .

Michelle, the gauge in my book is given the same:

26 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm/4 in over st st using 3mm (US 2-3) needles
