Kid size sorta cloche or bucket hat

I wanted to try here

but it doesn't seem to be coming up. DD wants sort of a cloche to bucket style hat, similar to a commercially produced one she has, looks sorta crocheted with "paper straw" although hers would be from actual yarn.

Here's the hat. You can see how circular it is on top, so probably something knit from the top down? It actually I think is meant to be worn with the brim folded up though because there is a Velcro patch to hold it up (there used to be a more substantial fake flower on it)
