A Way to Keep a Memory
When my daughter became pregnant, I was told to start knitting.. so.... I did... Being a daughter of parents of the Depression, I hate to waste things that might be of use.. So the odds & ends of the yarn, extra from cast on... etc.. started accumulating. I also read mysteries.. about knitting, lol. Well.. In one of the books the author talks about filling xmas balls w/ the snippets of the thread from embrodery.. ( i don't claim to be a champion speller). So.. I went to hobby lobby, bought some clear plastic xmas balls.. some large, some small. So.. when I am working on a project.. I keep one handy.. If I'm using large yarn.. I use the bigger balls, small yarn.. small balls etc.. (trying to keep this g rating, lol). Well, now I look back and see all the memories I've made her.. wow! When they leave home.. and go start their own homes.. or if they want them sooner... They will have memories from me, long after some of their favorite blankies have worn out.. I say they.. because my daughter is now carring my grandson..lol Just a thought to toss out... A warm fuzzy as it were...

What a neat idea! I have made the quilted christmas balls with special fabrics, from my daughter's wedding gown, from their grandparents clothing, etc.
