With felting, too, it depends on how defined the stitches are before you put it in the washer.... if you knit tightly, or even if the stitches are slightly well defined the fibers don't have a lot of wiggle roomto rub against each other. The mmmmm might work better if you use a looser gauge.... maybe go up a needle size, and see how that works.

He wanted matching clogs and I was happy to oblige! Here are DH's size 11s before felting next to my little size 6 felted ones:

It's been REALLY chilly here the last few nights, and supposed to get down to 38 tonight! DH has icicle toe syndrome, and when he got into bed last night I said "holy crap! I'd better get started on your slippers!" (he hates the word 'clog')... and HE says "yeah, and make it snappy!!!!!!" I was like

Double Reeder that pic is hilarious!

I should start some for DH. I can't felt them until he gets home, though. He's got weird feet.

Okay, y'all - I need some advice please from you experts :

If you are making these fantabulous clogs for others, how do you judge the felting size? Do you use a basic measurement of the inches of the shoe size and then measure the clogs in inches as you are felting?

(I was thinking that very same question....)

You could give them unfelted with directions on how to felt. OR just guess. I guessed with my mom's clogs, and they ended up being a bit too small, so we soaked them for several hours in water and streched them; now they're fine!
