yikes..
i've been working on an afghan, using a size 15, 47 inch circular needle. i'm using lion brand "thick and quick" yarn, and i've found that it's curling.. if i lay it flat, it stays that way, but if i let the end curl up and bump it, it stays in a relatively tight curl.. could i be i'm using too small a needle? is there any way to fix this? i'm not thaaaaat far into working on it to start over, but then again, i've been working on it for about 15 hours, so i'd rather not lose all that time i've spent so far.

what do i dooooo?!

What stitch pattern are you using?? If it mostly stockinette or a pattern based on stockinette, it will curl. Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do about it either :( . If there is a link to the pattern you are making, maybe you could post it here and we can see if there's anything else that may be the problem.

yeah, it's stockinette. it goes:

row one: knit across.
row two: knit 2 stitches, purl across, knit last two stitches.

then you just keep repeating that. it looks pretty but it curls

The only way to attempt to keep stockinette from curling is to add a border around the edges, and it looks like this pattern does keep a 2 stitch garter border but that isn't enough, unfortunately. I think you will find that once it is off the needles, it will curl even more :( . You might want to consider taking it apart and starting over with a different pattern - it is a lot of work to lose, but maybe better than keeping on with a pattern that is frustrating and a finished product that isn't what you hoped it would be.

do you have any [relatively easy] pattern suggestions?

i'd like to keep using the same yarn at least, i think it would make quite the cozy blanket

Here's a few ideas for you:
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/kw...tchAfghan.html
http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/khs-quikknit.html (this one shows it made using 2 colours, but could just as easily be made with 1)
