Big sock KAL???
This idea has been swirling around in my head for some time and I finally started last night. I am going to make Christmas stockings for my boys but they are going to be more like real socks, just a little bigger. The stockings/socks will not be huge since we are into minimalist gift giving but I think they will be fun. I am using WOTA Cranberry and Cloud which I had in my stash. I CO 64 and I am going to just going to make a regular sock making stripes and slipping stitches when I feel like it. I think I am going to buy some WOTA Spruce to use for the heel and toe. The other one is going to be Spruce and Cloud with Cranberry toe and heel. I am going for a Whoville/Dr. Seuss feel. I think we could have a lot of fun with this when we see everyone's version of this.

I've made three Christmas socks this week using this pattern http://www.lunaticcafe.com/Patterns/...20Stocking.pdf I used Red Heart's Strata which is a self striping yarn. I'm on my fourth one right now using solid colors but striping it to look like Disney's black, orange and white Nemo http://www.pixar.com/featurefilms/nemo/index.html

I'll try to get pics tomorrow when at my friend's house.

Oh wow, that is a great idea. I do a lot of blue, white, and silver for my Christmas colors. Man, I hope I can get them done in time, I only need to make 3.

Let us know how the WOTA is working out for them, please. I'm thinking of using the Andean silk.

Here are the socks I've made so far using the pattern mentioned in my last post. I'm working on sock number 5 presently. It'll be a bit more traditional done in red and green. Click on the pics to see larger views. The orange, black and white is for my autistic granson that loves Disney's Finding Nemo.

Yarnlady is the blue one made out of Strata as well? They all look adorable.

I have also been toying with the idea of making these this year.
