Here's my little collection. Two more yet to finish from the last ball of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran....what SOFT yarn. I recruited my niece to help as training for the socks we have waiting for our next auntie/niece knit along.

Whoohooo! I finished my other Caps to the Capital hat! This was my first project knit in the round with dpn's (other cap was knit in straights)! Now I've got my two caps packaged and ready to go out in the mail. I hope they are put to good use and help an infant in need.

Way to go fem!!! Your cute hat has been added to the ticker.
And also, this reminds all of us to get those hats in the mail if we haven't already! Deadline is January 2nd, 2007

Here's the mailing info:

1 - Fill in the note to President Bush (page 7 of the Caps to the Capital Kit ) so he knows you care about newborns around the world. If you like,
include your name and address. This information is necessary only to show our leaders that the cap was made
by a volunteer knitter or crocheter.

2 - Put your cap and note in an envelope and mail it by January 2, 2007 to:
Knitters and Crocheters for Newborns: Caps to the Capital
Save the Children
P.O. Box 950
Westport, CT 06881

Happy Knitting you great charity knitters!!

I just wish to thank each and every one of you for giving your heart to these itty bitty's. My 10 yo dd was a preemie at birth weighing just shy of 3.8 lbs and was delivered at 30 weeks via C-section. She received a teeny tiny knitted pink hat with a pink satin ribbon tie. We still have that hat to this day.

I wish I had read the thread title correctly CAPS for the Capital instead of CAPES for the Capital , as the campaign ends next Tuesday. But I will still participate in my own way by knitting hats for the NICU unit where dd spent her first 30 days.

Sometimes, I forget about dd's tiny beginnings, perhaps, I don't want to remember, but you all have touched this selfish knitter's heart, thus, I set a goal of 4 hats knitted per month for the Fairview/Riverside NICU unit in MPLS, MN--just another way to pay it forward A 'LA Oprah.

Thank you!

Thanks for the reminder that this need is a reality! I think your committment to get involved in that way is inspiring, and you've got great motivation.
