I am making my first pair of mittens and it's pretty basic (for me I should say) but there is one question I'm

about. On the 4th row it says to k1 p1, increase 1 st in each of next 2 sts. k1 p1. knit to end of round.
Well I just figured since it didn't say which increase to use that I'd do the knit into the front and the back of a stitch. Well all was fine until row 7. k1 p1 increase 1 st in next st. knit to 1 st before the purled st. increase 1 st in next st. k1 p1. knit to end of round.
Well this just doesn't make any sense when I get there. I have like 3 or 4 purled stitches in the row and its making it sound like I should have only 2, one at the beginning and one towards the end.
I guess my question is should I use the M1B that Amy's video shows? Scooping the yarn between the 2 needles and knitting into the back of it? What about the other side M1F? How do I know which increase to use??
After reading this post I have to say that if anyone can help me I'll send you money.
