mrs. beeton's stashbusting help?

So I had this idea in stashbusting, that I hope is brilliant. I have a skein of this mohair/etc blend and a skein of this Mango Moon carry-along weight yarn. Do you think I could knit knitty's Mrs. Beeton's with these yarns, perhaps holding the 2 together for the wrist ribbing part?

I've been trying to figure out ways to use up these 2 yarns forever and I'm hoping this is it!

I love mixing yarns!

Have you checked the gauge using the two yarns together? Can you get close without the fabric being too thick?

Can you wear mohair on your wrists? I can't wear mohair at all, some people seem fine wearing it anywhere, some are in between that.

I haven't knit up a swatch yet since I'm at work and just came up with the idea! I think I should be able to wear the mohair on my wrists since the percentage of mohair in the blend isn't too high. Plus, if I can't wear it I'm sure I can find someone to gift the pair too!
