In addition to the ones above, the Moss Lozenge stitch pattern is reversible. It is in the Barbara Walker books, in one of the Vogue Stitchionary books, and I also found it online free here
It is just combinations of knit and purl stitches.
It's done over 12 stitches so you can make it any size you want in multiples of 12. I have done it with a worsted weight on size 9 needles (you can see what that looks like here
and as a baby blanket in pink
with DK weight yarn on size 6 needles.
Any of the pattern books might have some more ideas.
