Need some help
I just started knitting again after 20yrs and I am confused about M1 and S1 because I have 2 books says 2 different things. M1 do I pick up st from back to front then K into back if pattern does not say R or L? On S1 do I slip purlways if pattern does not say knitways or purlways? So many rules I can't remember. Please help[/quote]

If a pattern says to slip a stitch, I do it purlwise unless told otherwise.

As for M1, pick up the stitch from front to back and knit into the back of it. (That's how I do it, anyway.)
