Definition of a row and seed stitch question
This is a silly question, but I've just been knitting scarves with the garter stitch and would like to try different stitches.

So ... what exactly is a row? Is a row knitting across completely, and when you "flip it", is that another row? Or is a row knitting across AND flipping it?

And when doing the seed stitch, for example, 20 stitches alternating knit and purl, when I flip it, do I knit and purl back or purl and knit back?

Thank you so much!!

row is one across, from end to end. When you turn your work you are starting the next row.

For seed stitch over an even number of stitches:
Row 1: (k1, p1) repeat across.
Row 2: (p1, k1) repeat across.

A row is just once across. Not across and back. I'm pretty sure with seed stitch you knit the purls and purl the knits.
