Wow!! I must applaud your creativity! And I have to agree that I'm not sure I could come up w/ something like that on the fly. I think you ought to put the pattern together & publish it! Your use of the yarn colors is terrific, too!!

Thanks for all the love everyone!

I know a couple of you asked for a pattern or something similar. I am going out of town for a few days but when I get back I promise I'll try to retrace my steps and write something up. It's pretty easy if you've done double knitting before and if you haven't, it takes a little getting used to but of course Amy does a great job explaining it on this site!

That is fantastic. I've been wanting to make a (sewn) needle case for quite awhile but yours is much better!!
