how to make this crochet handbag?
Saw these cute bags at Nordstrom's in S. Cal last month - anybody know how to make them? They look easy and I bet if there is nothing like this already online, some of the creative pattern designers on KH here can come up with something! I'd be interested in a knitted version too.

It looks like the main body is made up of 2DC-ch1-2DC clusters, each row making more clusters in the ch spaces of the last row. Maybe some of the shaping comes from having more DCs than that and reducing them (i.e. 4DC-ch1-4DC; work a few rows, then reduce to 3DC-ch1-3DC, then 2DC-ch1-2DC, etc.). Can't tell for sure, plus I just woke up! :P

Edit: looks like they may have gradually changed hook sizes, too? Not sure.

Above the ribbon, it looks like SC's and maybe a few SC2tog for shaping. Top edging on the large bag looks like it might be reverse SC's/crab stitch.

cool!
Cool! Do they just thread the ribbon through the natural *holes* or make special row of holes?

it look like the stitch is 2dc 1ch 2 dc... i doubt they used smaller needle but they single crochet on the top that will make it smaller in diameter...

In terms of shape, it is rather similar to the Fat Bottom Bag in the Stitch and 8itch, The Happy Hooker.
