Is it possible to turn a knit into a purl?
I was doing a moss stitch for a hat, and knit a single stitch that I should have purled, and a single purl that I should have knitted.

This was one row ago, and I am now at those stitches again. Is there anyway I can mess around with the yarn and turn them into their opposites before knitting and purling the correct way on this row?

I don't want to take out a whole row (who does ;-) ) because I have a lot of cables and other difficult things to undo, but if I have to... I have to. Just wanted to check with the experts first.

Thanks! I love your forum posts.

Absolutely! Just work to the mistake stitch, drop that stitch, CAREFULLY unravel it to the mistake stitch, and then redo it with either a crochet hook or your knitting needle.
Go to the video labeled "Correcting a stitch without unraveling rows."

For a knit, pull it through the front; for a purl, pull it through the back.

Thanked 2 Times in 2 Posts caught this quickly...good job. Once you do this little correction and realize how easy it is, it takes a little stress out of being perfect. A crochet hook is your friend.

Seriously, you all are lifesavers!

Thanks so much. Everyone around me was telling me "just unravel it, it's only one row."

But it FELT like it should be possible. Thanks for the confirmation and video!
