How to Recreate a Designeer Bag
Hello,

My daughter recently found a web site with a bunch of really hip wool purses on it and wishes for me to make her one. Ive tried to make my own pattern but the purse just doesnt look the same. I was wondering how to make them look so rounded rather than boxy and what a possible pattern may be to make one.

Here is the web site http://www.margaretnicole.com/banglebags/
I was interested in recreating the pattern on the top right purse that is chocolate brown with the pink ribbon.

Thanks guys!!

I've see a free pattern for something similar but I can't remember where. Hopefully someone else will chime in here.

My goodness! Those bags cost $200 and they are made of wool or cotton!
Wow.

I enjoy reading, quilting (started 10/11/2003), bread baking, purse making, making fabric bowls. I use to macramé and decorate cakes.
I started hand knitting (10/01/2005) and got my embroidery machine for Christmas 2005. I had 2 Bond Incredible Sweater Machines given to me in Feb. of 2007 that I'm really enjoying. http://susies1955.myphotoalbum.com/

cable purse
That is a great knockoff but some of the comments after the pattern say the purse is so small. Margaret Nicole purse is 14" wide by 12" tall including the handle. The pattern calls for lambs wool co 38st using size 13US needle(what is that in metric) They say the pattern knockoff will only hold keys, lipstick and tampons. How do I make it bigger or is it easier to find another pattern

my daughter likes the one knitqueen posted because she does not like the box look of the other post. How do the edges go rounded like that? How do I sew on the handles?

i am not sure about the handles beyond just wrapping around them but i would think you could make it as tall or as wide as you want by adding repeats to the pattern and knitting until it is as tall as you want it when doubled over.
