I just hit the Mother-Load at Big Lots!!! I found Lion Suede in Fuschia for $1.50 each. I made myself STOP at 16 skeins, only because that's how many the little shopping basket would hold.

WOW!!

I know of only two things I want to knit with it. A hat and scarf for myself, because I realized I never made MYSELF a hat OR a scarf that I liked a lot.
Now, what to do with the other 15 skeins................

Oh, and I found some Patons Brilliant in a petty chocolate "Marvelous Mocha" with little copper flecks throughout. I figured I'd make myself another scarf that would go with a few suits/outfits I have. They were only $1 each. Why did I get four???? Because they were only $1 each.................

Here, I'll see if I remember how to post a picture. The close up shows more accurately the color. LOVE IT!!

Lion Suede is sooooo comfy!!! I made some mittens out of it for my brother-in-law. I had to rip them out of my hands to give them to him. Can you imagine what a teddy bear would feel like knit with it?

I have a bunch of Suede yarn, I was going to make a purse out of it but have not gotten to it yet. The yarn is soft but I wasn't sure how it would knit up. Let me know how it knits up, what size needle do you use for knitting the Suede yarn. Also how did you get your Ravely button on your profile?

Ooooh, was it an easy mitten pattern? I'm not that brave, but I'd be tempted to make matching mittens to go with my hat and scarf!

Hmmm... is it too selfish to say I hope it rains the day of our get together so that we HAVE to have it at my house? I was thinking of making it a de-stashing party also. I made the mistake of putting away (or should I say TRYING to put away) all that new yarn and I realized I have GOT to make more room. If we wind up at my house, I'll think up some games where the winners can pick two or three skeins of yarn.

Ya know, games like "If you can knit while sitting on the couch, you win." "If you know how to do a Purl stitch, you win." And the best yet, "If you have ever bought yarn with no project in mind for it, you win."

OK, I'm done rambling. I need to go find more room in the closet for the yarn.

I used the santa mitten pattern from the Lion Brand website. I'll see if I can find the link.

Hey, if you're gonna offer free yarn, you KNOW we'll be there!

If you're serious, we'll just plan for it to be at your place!
