question about sock pattern
what does it mean when the pattern saids "turn and go back across"
using 2 needles

Are you beginning the heel flap?? If so, the heel is worked back and forth, NOT in the round like the rest of the sock. So when it says turn, do just that - turn your work around so you will have the wrong side facing you and continue on with only however many stitches your pattern specifies are for the heel flap.

what about the yarn string? would it be easy to do from left side?

I'm not sure what you mean?? If you turn your work around when the pattern tells you to, your working yarn should already be in the right place.
