A chemo cap is one specifically worn by cancer patients, yes, but it can be made out of any hat pattern. One of the most well-known chemo caps is the Shedir, but it's not the only one -- nor is it only worn by cancer patients. It's just a way of referring to the intended use of the cap. All hats can be potential chemo caps.
