Wacky Butterfly Doily-thing

The butterflies are great! Did you need to starch them the get them to stand up well or do they stay on their own?

What color were you wanting for the butterflies? I've seen some DMC Senso at Hobby Lobby in some nice colors, but it that a heavier thread that what the pattern calls for?

It's a little too heavy; its a size 3 thread, almost double the weight, I guess? There are a lot of really pretty Senso colors though! That might be the way to go for something a little heavier like placemats though... hm.... :thinking:

The butterflies are pretty stiff on their own, actually. They're essentially an octagon that gets folded in half. The pattern is here.

I'd like to starch the doily itself though; need to get some of the spray stuff.
