Changing the Title of a Posted Thread

I know that when you have sold or found something you are supposed to change your thread titled to reflect this, but having trired several things I still can't figure out how to do it.

You can hit edit on your own post, then change the thread title

when you are signed in and come back to the post at the bottom right corner of the post there should be a button that says edit.
click that and it should open for you to edit.

right next to the save button it says go advanced.. click that and it opens to another page where you are able to change the title!

To edit the title you click edit then advanced edit on the FIRST post you made. It will give you a box to change the title there.
