short ruffled neckwarmer/scarf with buttonhole

Does anyone know of a pattern for a sort of neck warmer/scarf that is ruffled and stays on the neck by putting one end through a large buttonhole? Saw one in a store that I want to make for a friend for Xmas! Sally

stitch and bitch has a scarf with a hole in it. you might try looking at Knitting Pattern Central for a ruffled scarf. To make the "keyhole" you just knit halfway aross, add a second ball of yarn, and knit the rest ofthe way across; then use 2 blass for each "side" for a few rows, then just reconnect the two sides of the hole by knitting across with one ball and cutting the other.

There is a pattern in the book One Skein Wonders (Judith Durant). There is a picture of it on the cover of the book. You can probably sneak a peak of it Amazon.com. I just picked up the book at the library.
