Button Hole in Wandering Aran fields wrap

Pattern calls for a 2 stitch button hole - how is that big enough to accomodate a 1 1/8 inch button? the pattern calls for binding off 2 stitches then casting on 2 stitches in the next row. Could I use the one row button hole Amy teaches here? What do you think?

Buttonholes are stretchy, but if you want to make it bigger you can. I always wait to buy the buttons until the holes are done just for this reason.
