blocking acrylic
Hi!

I am a sort or newbie-
I have never blocked anything but I am making a scarf that I think needs it. I am using a thicker acrylic yarn that is very soft. I am using an eyelet pattern and I didn't think about how it might curl. It's not terrible though and I think blocking might help but I wasn't sure if blocking works on acrylic.

This may be a dumb question but I thought I would ask before I finished the scarf. If it is going to stay curly I will probably take it all out.

TIA,
Abby

With acrylic, you never know. It does not generally block very well. You might be able to block it to the shape that you want, but the chances of it staying that way aren't great. It has a strong tendency to just spring back to its original state.
