Converting from dpn's to circs
If a pattern calls for using DPN's, can I just use circular needles instead? What's the advantage of doing one over the other?

I'm thinking of trying my first hat with this pattern: http://www.headhuggers.org/patterns/kpatt01.htm

i would put them on a 16 inch circ. the only advantage that i can see is that you won't need an extra set of needles to finish. as you bind off, eventually you will need to either go to 2 circs, magic loop, or DPNs to get around. otherwise, no advantage that i can think of.

The difference being after you decrease there might not be enough stitches to fit around a circular unless you use a longer one and pull out the cord to shorten it somewhat.
