Need help with Right twisted stitch

The directions I have says knit 2 tog and leave on left hand needle, insert right-hand needle (from front to back) between the 2 sts just knitted tog; then knit the first st again. Sl both sts fron the left hand needle to the right hand needle.

I am confused?? Does this mean you then have 4 stitches. Also when saying insert between the 2 sts just knitted together.. are you slipping a stich (sort of).... and then "knit the first st again? which is it??

I knit quite well but these directions are confusing HELP

You will end up with 2 stitches on the right needle.

K2tog (the first two stitches on the left needle) but don't slip those two stitches off the left needle yet. Now, knit only the first stitch on the left needle again and finally slip both original stitches off the left needle. You have made 2 stitches onto the right needle.

When you knit the first stitch again, you will be putting your needle between the two stitches that you just knit together in order to knit the first one. Not all the way between--they're just telling you where to start knitting the second stitch.
